Polished Brass

Polished Brass Finish - Polished Brass is a bright, gold tone of brass. Unlacquered brass will tarnish over time by a natural oxidation process (becoming Antique Brass).

Antique Brass

Antique Brass has a darker and less polished finish. It is made by oxidizing the brass surface with an acidic compound. Antique Brass is normally finished with a protective coating.

Oil Rubbed Bronze

A Bronze finish is made directly from Brass with an acidic compound. The finish may be coated to prevent further darkening or it may be rubbed with oil (oil-rubbed Bronze).

Flat Black

A flat black finish is similar to a bronze finish but without any copper highlights or bronze tones. This black finish can be matte or high polish.

Polished Chrome

Chrome plating is a finishing treatment - electrolytic deposition of chromium. Chrome imparts a reflective finish to items such as metal knobs and door hardware.

Brushed Nickel

Nickel is a silvery white metal that takes on a high polish. Brushed Nickel (or Satin Nickel) has a dull finish with hues of dark blue and black.
